CZ  Rimfire  Rifles

Updated  27th July 2024

The older CZ models 452 and 455 rimfire bolt action rifles have been the staple fare of hundreds if not thousands of shooters in the UK. Despite their great success the introduction of the lates 457 series of these fine rifles has been greatly welcomed by many shooters as the CZ factory has now addressed several minor features of the earlier rifles to provide a rifle incorporating new features demanded by modern shooters. In particular the new 457 series has shown what a factory can do if it listens to its customers thoughts, the result being a superb top quality rimfire rifle ideally suited not only for vermin shooting but for the ever blossoming rimfire competition events under the NRL and PRS  rimfire banners.

The 457 series offers a range of alternative designs mostly centred around the stocks offered and several options may be considered ideal for some of the modern rimfire competitions. Our intention is to offer shooters a variety of options from a basic factory rifle with minor alterations but conforming to the base or factory classifications through to models suitable for open classes. These open class rifles may simply be a factory barrelled action installed in a different style stock or chassis system or be offered fitted with a top quality Match grade barrel with possibly an aftermarket trigger fitted.

To start the ball rolling we show here a number of options we can offer either off the shelf or available within a few days depending upon the modifications desired. As you would expect under these circumstances the list of possibilities is rather long but we intend to keep a good supply of the basic rifles and stocks etc to hand  and we will be pleased to quote a timescale and price for any CZ rimfire rifle we feel we can offer. Please note more CZ rifles will appear here in the near future as we try to find the time to set up more examples!

Firstly however let us allow the factory to outline their own thoughts here:

Main features CZ 457 series

The CZ 457 series offers exceptional user comfort due to the easy, fast and reliable bolt even with the riflescope attached. To ensure maximum safety, there is a positive safety on the right side of the receiver, a striker status indicator and a separate bolt extractor control. The accuracy has considerably improved with the use of a new adjustable trigger mechanism with a low trigger pull weight and excellent travel, a noticeably lighter striker and a new type of bedding. A literally revolutionary innovation is the extremely durable anti-corrosion surface finish of the metal parts this technology currently has no equal on the market. Several improvements are evident in the 457 series including the reduced bolt throw of just 60° for easier use with a scope fitted, positive safety, firing mechanism (cocking) indicator, lighter striker, a new adjustable trigger system, and a Match chamber on selected models.
